Why people are obese: Part one

I work in a two-story building. We have an elevator about 20 feet from a large stairway. The elevator is very slow. I would estimate 60% of employees take the elevator when going upstairs. 'Nuff said.

Being non-obese, I don't consider 20 steps of walking "suffering". I reach the top before the elevator does. While I don't understand your second point, I would say, "yes, your lack of exercise as shown by your decision to ride an elevator up one story as opposed to walking is why you are obese." That and the stuffing of their faces with fatty foods, but that is for part two.

here in the modern world people don't use their own energy but rely on outside sources of energy for even the most mundane of tasks, like walking up a flight of stairs. and therein lies the problem with world superpowers trying to control the flow of energy. i don't know that there can be a solution. people will always take the easy way out if given the opportunity.
